Kim Perino

Kim Perino, General Manager

Olde Providence Racquet Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Kim Perino as the Club ’s new general manager. Kim has over 30 years experience in private club management with some of the finest clubs in California, including the Riviera Tennis Club (Pacific Palisades), the Jack Kramer Club (Palos Verdes), and the San Francisco Tennis Club.

A southern California native, Kim began his club career in 1975 as a teaching pro at the legendary John Wayne Tennis Club (Newport Beach) while still in college. After his graduation from Long Beach State, where he played varsity tennis, Kim managed tennis clubs in the San Francisco bay area, Hawaii, and southern California. In 1995 Kim returned to school and earned his Masters degree (MBA) from Pepperdine University. Kim also received formal club training with Club Corporation of America (CCA), the largest operator of private country clubs in the world.

Kim is excited about joining the OP staff and looks forward to meeting all of our members. He says he plans to create “the ultimate tennis experience for OP members through personalized service and enhanced programming”.

Kim and his wife Kathy have 3 grown children in southern California. Be sure to stop by the clubhouse soon and extend a warm welcome to Kim.


Brenda Culbertson

Brenda Culbertson

Brenda is the Associate Manager at the club and Director of the Business Office. She has responsibility for the bookkeeping and payroll department at the club and has been a loyal employee since 1980. The business office staff handles all the accounting procedures at the club, including monthly billing for members. She is always available to answer any member account inquiries. Brenda has also been a member of OPRC for many years. She has two grown children and is married to former club president Art "Cubby" Culbertson.


Kathy Plattner

Kathy joined the OP Pro Shop staff shortly after the opening of our new building. In that position she had the opportunity to meet and get to know many members. After three years at that position, an opening became available in the Business Office and since Kathy had worked for 15 years in finance at IBM she jumped at the chance to get back into an area that matched her experience and interest. Combining her Pro Shop member exposure with her finance background, she is able to handle all member account billings, payments, and inquiries. In addition to her billing responsibilities, she also manages the Indoor Contract rental process. She loves the game of tennis, and is a long time USTA and Queen City player. Kathy and her husband Craig have lived in Charlotte for 32 years, and have one grown daughter Callie, who recently received her graduate degree and works in Cary NC.


Lee Byrd

Lee Byrd

Lee is the club secretary, who has done a variety of jobs since she began her employment at OPRC in 1990. She answers phones and directs calls when needed, handles secretarial and bookkeeping duties for the staff and administration. She is also involved with the Board of Directors and their various committees. She has 2 grown sons, Mark and Bryan, and four grandchildren, Kasey, Emma, Hunter, And Rett.


Patti Furr

Patti Furr

Patti is the Member Services Director and fills many roles. An accomplished communicator, she excels at describing to prospective members the many benefits of membership at OP. She provides a detailed orientation on how to use and enjoy the club and its facilities to all new members and responds to the needs and questions of all members. Patti is also responsible for the planning, organizing and execution of all social and special events held at OP. Along with coordination and scheduling of all league activity and the Indoor contract program her contributions are a great asset to every department. Patti is very motivated to keep OP the best racquet club in Charlotte.
